Megan's Page
I am 15 years old and in 10th grade.
I am a member of the Leopidopterists' Society, the North American Butterfly
Association - NABA, the Ohio Lepidopterists, the Arizona Lepidopterists, and the
Kentucky Lepidopterists. I spend my spring and summer days collecting, studying,
photographying, and rearing lepidoptera. My photographs have been in gallery
shows. I spend a lot of time writing for www.wikipedia.com , the Wiki Project
Lepidoptera for all to read and see; just go to wikipedia and enter "north american
butterflies" to see my articles, lists, and photos. I also spend my spare time working
on the Hearts of Giving Ministry I created with my mom.

What I Want to be when I Grow Up: An Entomologist with a specialty in Lepidoptera
Other Things I Like to Do: I also love to explore outside; write in my nature journal; read, study, write
about butterflies; and taking nature photos. I love taking Karate, too. I also enjoy working on the
computer to update Wikipedia and emailing my girl friends in South Korea, swimming, needlepointing,
knitting, crocheting, and being with my friends. I love spending my spare time working on our Hearts of
Giving Ministry as well as volunteering at Matthew 25 Ministries and our local food pantry.

| HONOR SOCIETY I was honored to become a member of Eta Sigma Alpha, the National Home School Honor Society in Jun '10 continued membership in Jun '11 ENTOMOLOGY/LEPIDOPTERA Spoke at the annual Lepidopterists' Society meeting in WA, presenting my project work on how habitat improvements increased the population and species of butterflies in Jul '10 Participated in the first-ever wildlife survey at Goose Pond in Indiana. I was co-leader of the Lepidptera team, leading the survey for moths, in Jul '10 Traveled to Arizona to participate in a moth collecting exercise in the Brown Canyon in Jul '10 Attended KY LepSoc meeting in Nov '10 Attended annual LepSoc meeting at Yale University in Jun '11 was featured in the NewsTimes newspaper. Attending mothing field trip in Arizona in Aug '11 VOLUNTEERING started Hearts of Giving Ministry with my mom to help bring warmth, hope, and love to children around the world with hand-made blankets.
