| Each lesson is packed with wonderful aids to help you teach these principles to your children in a gentle, loving way. The interactive nature of these lessons will enable your children (and you!) to have fun while they are learning. Additional space has been provided where appropriate in the book for you to add your own examples and questions to enhance your children's learning. Each lesson contains: Child's Daily Prayer an easy-to-learn-and-recite prayer with which children can start each day. Opening Song an easy-to-learn-and-recite song (to the tune of well-known nursery rhyme) with which to begin each lesson. Trait Introduction gets children talking about their initial thoughts on the trait being taught. God's Words to Think About and Remember trait-specific Bible verse and easy-to-understand explanation. Good Behavior or Not? contains illustrations of good-hearted and not-so good-hearted behavior for your children to discuss. Examples of being... provides practical examples of using the specific trait so children can easily apply the lesson to every day life.. Character Song an easy-to-learn-and-sing trait-specific song (to the tune of well-known nursery rhymes). *** children love this *** Character Story a real-life story (with illustration) that provides examples of how -- and how not -- to behave in every day life. The story includes the Character Song and Character Prayer. Let's Talk ABout it Further provides more interactive real-life discussion scenarios for you to discuss with your children. It poses several questions and situations to your children and allows them to decide and discuss what they would do in those circumstances. Character Prayer provides a trait-specific prayer to help young children in talking to God. Activity Ideas activities and crafts to help reinforce the learning with your children. Craft patterns are all included in the Appendix. You Decide Activity Page contains short stories and situations that enable your children to decide on their own whether or not God would be pleased by the behavior. Section for Parents Reinforce the Learning: suggested reinforcement ideas and additional trait-related reading suggestions "Try It" Exercise: things you can do in every day life to help reinfore the trait learning. Learning by Example: showing your children how you, as their parent, live by these principles My Character Log: provides a means for you to record your children's positive heart responses.
